It’s an exciting time for Hannah Scott right now, gearing up for the release of her much-anticipated album ‘Pieces Of The Night’ later this year, and having just released the lead single from the project, ‘Signs Of Life’.
If you’re not familiar with Hannah Scott, her collaboration with creative partner Stefano Della Casa is a really interesting backstory. She spent a year living and working on an olive press in rural Tuscany in her late teens; she eventually met Stefano in London but may well have met years earlier when regularly passing through the train station Stefano was working in at the time! They seem to have struck gold with their partnership, garnering support from the likes of BBC Radio 2, The Guardian and MOJO.
“A song about not giving up hope even in the darkest moments”
The new single blends a range of organic sounds and retro synth textures, and the result is a beautifully-crafted piece of art. The song takes you on a journey, beginning with its subtle, atmospheric verses which gradually build into a killer chorus that hits you like a tonne of bricks. It’s a real attention-grabber which Hannah delivers with such power and emotion; phenomenal vocals.
It’s like she’s lived every word too. Hannah has had her own difficulties following the recent diagnosis of a form of arthritis, which may have played a part in the defiance and resilience of her writing for the single. It’s an anthem for anyone finding their way out of a difficult period in life – a message to keep believing. If this is a taster of what’s to come on the upcoming album, prepare yourselves for a truly stunning release.
