Lazy Queen – Sober

The Norwegian Alt-Punk Risers Share an Emphatic New Single

Known across Scandinavia for their off-kilter, punk influenced Indie sound – Norwegian five-piece Lazy Queen are fast becoming one of the most exciting bands from their part of the world. Inspired by and writing about everything from Kevin Spacey’s questionable behaviour, to difficulties with dependency and addiction, they take a raw punk spirit to their upbeat and jovial sounding indie rock.

There’s a melancholic and serious undertone to their music. Lead singer Henrik has consistently struggled with issues of addiction and their new singles ‘Sober’ and ‘Throwaway’, serve as a reminder that addiction, like depression, is not a linear journey and that these issues are never fully purged.

‘Sober’ looks to portray the other side of the addiction coin. The life after rehab and perceived progress. Speaking on the new single, lead singer Henrik states

The new single ‘Sober’, sonically appropriates that despondent, empty feeling after the party has come to a painful ending. Still emboldened with the raw, Lazy Queen spirit – It’s a potent, yet melancholic exploration of working to find balance and normality.
