Australian dream-pop rising star Hatchie performed a mesmerizing show at Soda Bar in San Diego last night, racing through a mix of hits off her recent debut album Keepsake – one of the best albums of this year – as well as last year’s Sugar & Spice EP.
Effervescent lo-fi guitar and synth soundscapes, moody, shadowy lighting, and Hatchie’s smoldering vocals and swoon-worthy lyrics kept the devoted crowd enthralled from start to finish. Recent hits like “Obsessed” and “Without A Blush” sounded even more galvanizing live than on record. A triumphant return to San Diego for the promising indie musician.
