Taking place the weekend of July 28th through 30th, the 2017 edition of Newport Folk Festival took place at Fort Adams State Park in Newport, Rhode Island. The festival began in 1959 as a counterpart to the Newport Jazz Festival. Photographer Anthony Mulcahy attended all three days of this year’s festival and captured performers such as Wilco, The Avett Brothers, Jim James, Drive by Truckers, Angel Olsen, Jalen N’Gonda, Joseph, Mandolin Orange, Mt Joy, and Nikki Lane on Saturday, July 29th for this gallery.
