Taking place the weekend of July 28th through 30th, the 2017 edition of Newport Folk Festival took place at Fort Adams State Park in Newport, Rhode Island. The festival began in 1959 as a counterpart to the Newport Jazz Festival. Photographer Anthony Mulcahy attended all three days of this year’s festival and captured performers such as Roger Waters, John Prine, Margo Price, Bon Iver, Rayland Baxter and Shakey Graves, Rhiannon Giddens, Margaret Glaspy, I’m With Her, Kam Franklin of The Suffers, Julian Lange and Chris Eldridge, Nathaniel Rateliff, Pinegrove, The Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Suzanne Vega, and Jay Sweet on the final day on Sunday, July 30th for this gallery.
