Salt Lake City-based band The National Parks freed their long-awaited album “Places” back on September 15th. The National Parks started on a nationwide tour September 18th
The band is still led by Brady Parks ( of Denver, CO) and noticed a number of adjustments earlier than settling right into a dynamic 5-piece. With Brady being re-joined through original member Sydney Macfarlane as a lead vocalist and John Hancock on electric guitar, Cam Brannelly on drums and Megan Parks on violin.
Brady Parker states “As I started writing new music for this album, I was feeling a lot of pressure to aim for singles or a 3-5 track EP at most. We’re independent so it wasn’t pressured from a label or anything but just looking at industry trends it makes a lot more financial sense to push singles. But I couldn’t do it. As I started writing there was just a pull to write a collection of songs under this sort of umbrella concept about places and how they shape us in a whole bunch of ways. So I just went for it and decided to write another full album and I’m really proud of that. I think each song on the album is better in the context of the full album. I really do feel like we created something worth listening to start-to-finish.”
