Fleet Foxes singer Robin Pecknold kicked off a short run of West Coast solo acoustic shows at the Chapel in San Francisco on December 4th, the first of two sold-out nights. Pecknold played a set full of songs he said didn’t fit into the full-band Fleet Foxes shows, and the 23-song setlist featured covers of tunes by Arthur Russell, the Bee Gees, Elliott Smith, Judee Sill, and Joni Mitchell–who he recently played acoustic guitar for at her Hollywood Bowl show.
Nigerian-born, New York-based, and Stanford grad student Uwade opened the show with tunes from her upcoming record, as well as a particularly charming Strokes cover.
