The new 7″ from Florida flourishes with authentic psychedelia courtesy of Gary War's boardwork. This single excels in its tender treatment of layers, be it subtle nods to garage gods of yore or the freaked out vocals. It's very Rocky Horror Transylvanian transvestite covering Black Sabbath with 13th Floor Elevators backing, but it's a comparison that carries no weight as Florida is divisively weird without a superficial heritage. You will understand once you hear the b-side “Once Yr In It.”
The blogosphere is crawling with accessible mp3s, but a chance at the original pressing is diminishing with every passing second. The 7″ is sold out at Shdwply Records, but appears to still be available through Norman Records.
