From November 8th through November 17th, the 30th annual Olympia Film Festival took place in Olympia, Washington. During this year's edition of the festival, Melissa Denice Saunders attended the opening night featuring performances by Hot Fruit, Survival Knife, and The Julie Ruin. The Julie Ruin's performance marked Kathleen Hanna's first performance in Olympia in sixteen years. The film festival featured a screening of a documentary about Hanna, “The Punk Singer” which was directed by Sini Anderson.
