Wayfarers, "Kings"

Post Author:

In a world of hoppy craft beer, the Wayfarers‘ single “Kings,” goes down more like champagne. And while both drinks are great, only one of them is basically a celebration in a bottle.
“Kings” takes you back to the last time you felt truly carefree— to memories of letting loose, laughing, forgetting and having fun with your friends. While for someone out there that might be nostalgic; mostly it’s bubbly, exciting, and gives you an immediate buzz.
In case you haven’t guessed, the Wayfarers are pretty much the most fun happening in the indie-pop world rn. With a vibe that can be described as upbeat and infectious, vocalist, Katie Cecil, and multi-instrumentalist talent, Anthony Purpura, seriously deliver.
From the beginning, Cecil’s clear vocals hook you. And the music is just so damn catchy. It has “hit” written all over it because it’s the type of song you’d want playing on the soundtrack for your life, or at the very least, the type of song you could only associate with one of the best nights of your life.
Perhaps that’s why “Kings” has such a triumphant feel to it; it sets out to have a good time and accomplishes it. In their own words, their aim to create “really positive,” music that you can, “dance and rock out to.”

Mission: definitely accomplished!
