Introducing UK producer Grip Tight, oka Benjamin Gregory who delivers the warm, subtle & restrained new single “Get to Know” ft. KBY b/w “Dive In” available now via Musclemilk Records. Through an economy of electronic elements that are sequenced sweetly in a mix of feelings; Gregory creates sensations to be shared amongst friends & lovers alike in the most privy of destined resorts/locales.
“Get to Know” is a soft trickling back & forth duet between Benjamin & KBY (of Deep Throat Choir & Peggy Sue) that illustrates a generative exchange. Notions of evolving sentiments & other plays out in the song where the keys & beats very carefully resemble the fanciest of spas, or some sort of elite gym that only the big time swells have access to. Grip Tight’s b-side “Dive In” leads you by the hand through a blend of harmonic utterances & restrained electronic elements. Gregory then promptly guides us through warm & rich summery waters that lap up all that we have left in these last days of summery sun & holiday indulgences.

“Get to Know” is a tale of communication adrift, of questions left unanswered, of a romance struggling to define itself, whilst “Dive In” explores the themes of a jealous mind and is co-incidentally set to my favorite walking pace (115bpm).
