You might recall some time back when we introduced you to Darnum Samp with their single “Tap The Tapes” off their Low Body Tapes and today we are proud to present the world premiere of the video from Adam Hamer for Conceptual Jumpsuit. The Los Angeles duo’s tripped out & chilled west rollers are set to visuals that are much what you might expect, where art video collages appear before your senses that use various filters and layering effects where the duo appears from the mix of static & footage of the sky.

And that sky motif is met with a cluster of image styles that allude to all the 80s & 90s dance eras that Darnum Samp allude to in their sound where they bring the Chicago traxx & acid house flair with a love for 90s backpackers & spaced out effects that stretch far out to the great beyond. From the television tube analog effects we see the upward gazing effect of LA palm trees seen from the perspective of the passenger in a convertible to a variety of panning effects where you’re riding shotgun and gazing in a daze out the window at the familiar locales. Hamer’s visuals for “Tap the Tapes” match the woozy effect of Darnum Samp’s economic approach to electronic arrangements where everything operates in an understated way that feels like the most booming & kinetic whisper that you can dance too. The visuals along with the track also continue to throw the identity distinction of era where it sounds as fresh now as it could have in all the previoius decades that date back to the 70s.

Darnum Samp also provided us with the following exclusive insights on the creation of the visuals for “Tape the Tapes”:

We gathered some inspiration, plotted on shots and locations, and just went and did the shit. Adam is a part of the fam so the chemistry is naturally there. We all wanted the video to embody this electric psychedelic aesthetic, and at the same time show this battle/mash-up between lo-fi distorted footage and hi-fi shots. Shit looks pretty dope to me.
