Anna Pancaldi has firmly established herself as one of the UK’s most promising rising talents, and has already made fans at Radio 2, Radio 6Music and The Line Of Best Fit. She’s clocked up over 1.5 million streams, and she’s also had some wonderful opportunities to showcase her music live, on support slots with the likes of John Mayer and Prides.
Anna’s new single ‘What I’ve Become’ sees her experimenting with a new sound which she hopes will continue her momentum:
“What I’ve Become is the beginning of an exploration of the electric guitar for me. It has inspired new melodies, songs and it’s journey I am finding great company. I am eager to see where it continues to lead me and to go on sharing that progression with you all”
The track is a far cry from her previous single, the piano-led ‘Brother’, with a much fuller production and pop-infused melody. There’s a great energy and drive to the song with the thumping back beat and some wonderfully-utilised electric guitar, whilst Anna’s powerful vocal delivery adds great emotion and passion.
The honesty, rawness and edge to her previous work is still present, but at the same time she’s broadened her musical horizons which could open many more mainstream doors for her. It’s simply begging to be performed live, which is where fans will really appreciate the song’s atmospheric quality. Surely destined to be a hit over the summer, ‘What I’ve Become’ looks set to bring further attention to the future star that is Anna Pancaldi.
