NYC outfit Decisions epitomize the duality of fear and fury felt by so many, on “Trapped,” the first single off their forthcoming S/T EP, out May 4 via Wharf Cat Records and Death By Sheep Records. A blare of feedback tears through you to rouse a dormant hell from within, like metal scraping metal – your heart is a crude, tin can, and they’re opening it without a can opener. Unthinkable, screeching death lingers for eleven seconds before any notion of “other” makes itself known, a solitary snare drum pounding like from the inside of a locked trunk. The hinges loosen as bass growls and singer Liana Hell Lean fluctuates between restrained frustration and full-on wrath. The track plods on, and picks up the pace and bears witness to the unraveling of sanity. No stone left unturned, the band’s full force changes form as it hurdles to its close.
