We're not sure how Chinese water torture works, but we align it to the urges we get when listening to Monster Rally & RUMTUM's “Tribes”. Much like the Balam Acab record, “Tribes” can't be played in the IMPOSE HQ for all to hear, it stalls productivity with everyone lining up for the bathroom.
Once you relieve yourself, it becomes possible to appreciate “Tribes” for its attention to detail. The expressive percussion work, builds off water droplets, PONG hits and the rattle of dice in a cup. The duo let an acoustic strum be the constant through their creation, while the found sounds get tinkered with to breathe movement into “Tribes”.
