The NYC electronic songstress drops new single & announces newly formed label Music Website with manager Chris Burden

Over the last couple of years, NYC producer and songwriter Vitesse X (aka Jordan Stern) has impressed us with a wondrous style that fuses elements of electro, vaporwave and atmospheric breaks, and her debut LP Us Ephemeral was a favorite of ours in 2022. Now she’s back with the excellent brand new single “In The Balance,” which now counts as the first official release on her and manager Chris Burden’s newly-formed label Music Website.

“I wrote this track right after I got back from tour in fall of 2021,” she shared. “I was feeling really inspired and wanted to write something that would hit hard in a live setting. At the same time, I was really struggling to find a sense of balance in my life post-pandemic and used this track as a catharsis for my frustration and desire to feel in harmony again.”

“In The Balance” is a glitchy instrumental track built around a chopped-up vocal sample, propulsive breakbeats and sleek celestial synths. It’ll appear on the label’s upcoming compilation “Music Website Vol. 1,” which will also include tracks from other artists on the roster and friends of the label. That compilation is now available for pre-order HERE on the label’s site, and will drop in June as each track is digitally released.

In addition to Vitesse X, the initial Music Website roster features Floated, DV-i, Swordes, and Couch Prints. More will be revealed in the coming weeks and months.

Leading Music Website along with Stern will be music manager Chris Burden, who has held roles at Sony Music Entertainment’s Red Distribution (now Orchard) and Knitting Factory Entertainment, in addition to serving as tour manager for Beach Fossils. He most recently managed vaporwave purveyor George Clanton and served as manager of his label 100% Electronica.

The label will focus on representing “the new underground electronic-alternative music coming out of New York City.” In the meantime, you can give Vitesse X’s “In The Balance” a spin below:
