Montreal is coming — and rappers like Wasiu are at the forefront. The talented lyricist has already collaborated with many of the most known figured in the burgeoning rap scene — yes, including Kaytranada, who produced his “Physical” single. Now Wasiu is aiming to reach new heights with his intricate, thoughtful lyrics.
He’s set to release MTLiens 2 sometime this month, and for his most recent single, he’s sticking to the script — no reaches for a single, just a heavy dose of bars on his “Artbeat Cypher,” in which he’s joined by fellow rhymers Lou Phelps and KNLO. The three trade bars over a rawkus, head-nod inducing beat made by recent Fool’s Gold signee Shash’U. Both Wasiu and Phelps treat the mic right, and though KNLO is rhyming in French, it certainly sounds like he’s rippin’ the mic too.
