Ascap Share Their Four Tips to Get Your Songs Heard

This week sees one of the United States’ largest songwriter conventions return in New York. The 2018 ASCAP “I Create Music” EXPO gives songwriters and musicians the chance to have their music heard by some of the industry’s most influential names.
Ahead of the event, ASCAP has shared their top tips to get your songs heard over the weekend.
“EXPO Factor” Attendee Showcase – A collection of celebrity judges will listen and select their favorites until one winner is left. The winner collects a prize valued at $5,000 and a session with YouTube on developing a YouTube channel. More details available here.
Genre Feedback Sessions – This will include a number of musicians from many genres including Darrell Brown’s renowned all-day “multi-genre feedback sessions”. The deadline for these sessions is the 15th of April, more information available here
Producer & Rapper Showcase: Ten years going strong, the Producer & Rapper Showcase will feature ten “I Create Music” EXPO attendees (eight producers and two rappers) performing their best work live in front of an audience and a panel of hip hops most influential figures. Women’s International Music Network’s She Rocks Showcase: Celebrating its fifth anniversary, the “She Rocks” Showcase will feature the events best undiscovered female talent, alongside a performance from Priscilla Renea.
