Baltimore’s Scapescape music & arts festival has grown. The festival started out a very modest 20 bands on two stages over the course of one day in 2011, and last year it expanded to four days with over 75 bands on four stages. This year the festival is tightened up to three days but it now spreads itself out over six stages.
The festival has outgrown its initial location, and the beloved G Spot no longer exists in the same form (RIP). Scapescape’s current site is squarely in the middle of the Station North arts district, just north of Penn Station, in the cultural heart of Baltimore.
In two years Scapescape has seen performances from Baltimore-based acts like Dan Deacon, Wye Oak, Dope Body, Celebration, Horse Lords, Roomrunner, Lafayette Gilchrist, and many more. It has attracted attendees from all over the East Coast and is the winner of Baltimore City Paper's 2012 editors' pick and readers' poll for Best Music Festival. With multiple stages, galleries and street artists spread throughout Baltimore's creative hub, once a year Scapescape shines a light on the town's thriving arts scene.
