I think we've made a joke about this before, but there is a hard rock band in Philly called DIVE, and they have way more fans on Facebook than Brooklyn's indie rock DIVE, who have now changed their name to DIIV. The original DIVE likes to play “Draw Something” when on the road to shows in Teaneck, NJ; DIIV member Devin Rubin Perez tweeted last night about how he was only tweeting from the bathroom so he could solo a joint at a weird fashion party in Detroit. Different strokes for different folks, we guess!
Anyways, they released a new single, called “Doused” to go along with the announcement. Z. Cole Smith, the frontman of the band, also let loose this wonderful quote, which bears a lesson for band-name examiners everywhere: “…The short of it is that I don't really give a fuck what the band is called. I originated this project in a bedroom with no internet and didn't know if it would ever leave the bedroom.” See? People can still not give a fuck. It's ok. You can always change it later.
