Last year on “Record Store Day” Father/Daughter Records released a compilation of real bands covering songs by fictional bands. For example, Bent Shapes covered the Mystik Spirals from Daria, and Potty Mouth covered a song by Pink Slip from Freaky Friday. It was great. The label is set to release a second volume this year, but without an official association with Record Store Day. They apparently called the record “not compelling enough,” which is pretty hilarious. Volume two of the compilation features submissions from Allison Crutchfield, Quarterbacks, Krill, Small Wonder, and more. LVL UP’s contribution is a cover of “Somebody Kill Me Please” by “Robbie Hart” from The Wedding Singer. It’s streaming below; more information about the comp can be found here.
