On the scale of promotional tactics from mundane to brilliant, Liverpool Singer/Songwriter Natalie McCool’s Cover Competition scores pretty high. In support of her upcoming UK Tour, the artist has given eight artists the chance to get one of their songs covered by her—if the fans want it. On both her Facebook and Twitter pages, there are polls set up for people to vote for what they think are the best songs.
There is an artist representing each city on her upcoming tour, and each is pit against another in a total of four competitions. The four winners will have her cover of their song posted on her social pages. The rewards don’t just stop with the lucky artists, however. Each person who votes, comments or RTs about it, and hashtags their city is entered into a drawing to win one of three free concert entry slots and a signed copy of her November The Great Unknown album if they hashtag their city.
