Brooklyn art-punk fixtures Parts & Labor are slated to release a new LP, Constant Future, on March 8th.
With help from producer Dave Fridmann (Mogwai, Flaming Lips), Constant Future is billed as a back-to-basics effort, with “keyboard riffs distorted into oblivion” and “crackling drones that haunt and soothe.” It's the band's fifth album, and one that promises to take their “dense, futuristic sound” and meld it into “something massive, beaming, downright nuclear.”
Parts & Labor also performed a cover of No Age's “Life Prowler” or benefit The Voice Project, which is an effort to support the peace movement in Uganda. Artists like Billy Bragg, Peter Gabriel, Mike Mills, and Andrew Bird have also contributed. It's also just really cool to hear the band's take on No Age.
