The legendary American string quartet conjured a stunning documentary and live music experience – written and directed by Sam Green and Joe Bini

Last week, the legendary American string quartet known as Kronos Quartet delivered a live soundtrack to their recent documentary “A Thousand Nights” – presented at Seattle’s Moore Theatre. Directed by Sam Green and Joe Bini, “A Thousand Nights: A Live Documentary with Kronos Quartet” triumphantly displayed the gravitas and ethos of Kronos Quartet, with live music being performed alongside narration, archival footage, and interviews from prominent artists such as Philip Glass, Tanya Tagaq, Steve Reich, Wu Man and Terry Riley.

The film provided an intimate look into the spirit of the group, which has existed for 50 years with a revolving door of musicians, including founder David Harrington, who hails from Seattle. Both Harrington and his high school violin teacher were in attendance. You can scroll through below for some of the highlights from a grand night at Moore Theatre.
