Djo, the musical project of actor and musician Joe Keery (who you may know as the finely-coifed, older kid/quasi-mentor Steve from Stranger Things) played a packed, sold-out show at the Fox Theater in Oakland ahead of his appearance at Coachella. Djo’s third album, The Crux, was released a week before, riding the wave of his most successful single, “End of Beginning,” which was from his second record, Decide, but rereleased last year after becoming a viral hit via TikTok.
Before his set, Keery came joined openers Post Animal (whom Keery played with before venturing out on his own) at the end of their set, taking on guitar and backing vocal duties for the psych-rock band.
