Rina Sawayama has had a pretty busy 12 months. Last September saw the release of her second album, Hold the Girl, followed by nonstop touring. In the spring, she made her acting debut alongside Keanu Reeves in John Wick: Chapter 4. And in June, she launched the second round of touring in support of Hold the Girl, the Hold the Girl Reloaded tour. Sawayama performed at the second annual Portola Festival in San Francisco on October 1st, but about 14 hours before her festival set, she played a late show at the Warfield. Having played the Fox Theater in Oakland back in November, this meant she played three Bay Area shows in ten months… but even a set that started around midnight didn’t dampen her fans’ enthusiasm.
