The Library is On Fire, Cool Serbia, Life Size Maps and Grand Resort at TLIOF Loft

Post Author: Walter Pearce

On Friday, October 12th, I made my way out to 114 Forrest Street in Bushwick to see Cool Serbia, The Library Is On Fire, Life Size Maps and Grand Resort. After taking a few minutes figuring out which apartment to buzz, I strolled up to the third floor to arrive at the LBIOF Loft Space–the band's house that sometimes doubles as a concert venue. The space was suprisingly well kept (compared to other lofts I've seen) and although none of the bands had gone on yet, it was already filled with people. Grand Resort started off the night with his Brooklyn via Dominican Republic dream pop vibes. Everytime I see Grand Resort they are better than the last time, and this night was no exception. Life Sized Maps went on next, filling the room with their crazy noise pop which got everyone moving. This band never ceases to amaze me–their energy is always at unheard of levels. Apparently a ton of people wanted to see Cool Serbia, because in the ten minutes after Life Sized Maps' set, the number of attendants doubled. Once the band started it was clear why they drew so many people–their set was pretty much seamless. I only caught a few minutes of The Library Is On Fire's set, but from what I heard they played a selection from their huge repertoire, and they seemed as spirited as always

The Library Is On Fire hosts a show in their home with a performance and other bands.
