On Sunday, June 7, SummerStage featured a free event in Brooklyn’s Red Hook Park with performances by Unlocking The Truth (the Brooklyn, heavy metal band and subjects of a documentary film called Breaking A Monster), a band formed at Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls in 2013 called Harsh Crowd, and members from Black Girls Rock!, a nonprofit, youth empowerment mentoring organization, plus AvÇ and Merci J.
