Ascendant Detroit rapper is pure fiery charisma in new music video
Rap newcomer 42 Dugg is currently one of the hottest rising acts in the game, and another in a recent line of ascendant stars who are holding it down for the city of Detroit. Hot on the heels of fellow hometown peers Sada Baby, Tee Grizzley and DeJ Loaf, Dugg dropped his phenomenal mixtape Young and Turnt earlier this year to universal buzz and acclaim. And today he’s shared a vibrant, dynamic video for mixtape highlight “Whole City.”
“Whole City” is a hard hometown anthem full of scorching beats and dark auras to match 42 Dugg’s insane flow and delivery, which hits you with rapid-fire intensity. As such, the video is a moody black-and-white collage of Dugg rapping around various locations in downtown Detroit, intercut with moments of shimmering color photography in a couple performance and strip club shots. In every frame, he absolutely oozes bravado and charisma. Watch the clip below, and listen to the rest of Young and Turnt below.
