MH the Verb and Buscrates two members of Philly art collective arthouse95, are preparing to drop Afronaut, a collaborative LP. The duo recently released “Traffic,” the first single from the project. The song is a luminous, boombap-based reflection on “the abyss” known as the American financial system. MH rides the crisp drums and a thick, luminous synths with a rhythmic flow dishing on his life as “a kid with an arrow” trying to shoot down stars.
The track is met with an ambitious video which introduces the (s)hero known as Afronaut. MH has described the heroine as a futuristic (s)hero who “travels back to today’s complicated moment in time to inspire and empower the artists and youth of the world.” She’s the perfect protagonist for a project in which MH and Buscrates look to do the same for Philly and beyond.
