Screaming Females, “Poison Arrow”

After releasing their Chalk Tape to Don Giovanni Records last week, which you can order here and has an awesome structured concept behind the writing of its songs, Screaming Females have put out a video to coincide. The video is for the song "Poison Arrow" and it exhibits a Ryan Trecartin vibe in its use of men in drag, off-kilter but based-in-reality premise, and a feeling of inching doom. It's sinister and weird and looks like an old VHS tape you'd find of a late 80s public service announcement. A bunch of men dressed as women participate in the Screaming Females Art Open, but learn that they're likely to be out-arted. The highlight is when one of the men reveals his artwork entitled "Marissa Paternoster" and it is just a cutout of Justin Bieber. It's worth the watch.

Screaming Females played a show at Music Hall of Williamsburg last week. Check out the photos for that here.
