“Batmanguitarclock”:
This is one of dd/mm/yyyy's shit-craziest songs live but it’s nice to finally hear it somewhat contained… fuzz bass and “what do you get for the girl who’s got everything?” chorus, making good use of digital delay and some sorta theremin-mimicry. Slight inflection of chromaticism that infuses a number of the songs on their album Are They Masks? (We Are Busy Bodies), which covers ground between Beefheart-static sludge, Zappa love child arpeggios and Crass punk piss, as well as some of the most amusing lyrics this side of The Unicorns. More on that later.
