$100k helps heal GAYNGS' wounds

Post Author:

Back in October, on the morning of their slated performance at Austin City Limits Festival, GAYNGS awoke to the unpleasant news that the company they'd leased a tour bus from had ordered theirs back to Nashville without warning, and with all their gear and possessions on board. They were forced to cancel their show, but it would seem that it's all worked out in the end, as the bus company, C.J. Starbuses, Inc., was ordered to pay Gayngs LLC (yup!) to the sweet tune of $100k for compensatory and punitive damages. (So not just compensation for the money that went down the tubes not playing the show, but also the gotcha! punitative kind of money.) Unfortunately, this is only the beginning of the healing process for the Midwest supergroup. According to their manager Nate Vernon:

“I am extremely relieved that the jury understood the turmoil, both emotionally and financially, the band has gone through as a result being forced to cancel our ACL performance. No amount of money can make up for being deprived of that show; however, the peace of mind which comes from justice is the next best thing.”

Justice has been served!
