Kansas City’s indie/alternative rock collective Captiva unleashed a new track for your listening pleasure today. The song – titled “Check Your System” – starts off with crystal clear vocals, replete with reverb and the feeling that the band intends to take charge. And they do. They take charge of the sound, the intricate composition feeling much like a summertime, vibey track as the instrumentals are woven expertly into the vocals. To clarify, the command is in the vocals, which take center stage in this song. This is a welcomed departure from the instrumental-heavy tracks we have been hearing as of late, and we’re big fans of the crisp, clean sound.
