Los Angeles-based Elohim launched onto the scene in 2015 with her critically-acclaimed singles “She Talks Too Much” and “Xanax”. Her debut self-titled EP release in May of this year brought her even further into the fold,
The song starts off with an interesting beat, a whirring sound that almost confuses at first listen. Then dance in Elohim’s light, raspy vocals as she repeats “I’m hallucinating” and discusses drinking “the water” in a fun and carefree way. The inclusion of the definition of what a hallucination is in a British computer voice – as well as what seems to be mariachi music in the background later in the song – just seem to boost the quirky quality of the song.
We can’t imagine this song not being on everyone’s fall playlist.
