Brazilian psych-punks & English industrial duo drop pulverizing new single off upcoming collab LP
Deafkids are a frenetic psych-punk trio from Sao Paulo that boasts crazy time signatures and imposing vocal howling. Meanwhile, Petbrick are a shadowy industrial duo from London that spouts piercing dissonance and sludgy riffs. Together they conjure a ferociously noisy midpoint, and now they’ve got their debut collab LP, the aptly titled Deafbrick, coming out this Friday via Rocket Recordings. Now they’re sharing that record’s newest single, the pulverizing “Força Bruta.”
Simmering static opens the floodgates for a wave of pummeling drums and slashing post-hardcore riffage. Ominous vocal wailing and stabbing digital percussion elevates the track to heady psychedelic heights. “Força Bruta” is as towering, intense and unrelenting as its title suggests, a short and savage team-up that captures everything that’s great about both acts. It definitely piques our anticipation for Deafbrick. You can pre-order the album HERE, and check out the convulsive video for “Força Bruta” below.
