Oh, hey, were you in an iconic alternative rock band that influenced countless musicians and bands for decades? A band that’s still selling out shows today? Cool! Good for you!
Kim Deal was in TWO.
The former Pixies bassist/singer and Breeders cofounder/guitarist/singer released her first solo record late last year, the critically-acclaimed Nobody Loves You More. (The album also features some of the final sessions recorded with legendary producer and Deal’s frequent collaborator, Steve Albini, before his death in May 2024.) Given her rock icon status and new record, it was no surprise that her show at the Fillmore in San Francisco was a packed house. Deal brought a 10-member backing band (including sister and co-Breeder Kelley Deal) feature brass, strings, and backing vocalists to bring stylistically-diverse songs of Nobody Loves You More to life.
