So, like, obviously I was both cool AND self-aware in high school, so Sydney-based rocker Georgia June‘s tell-off of a debut single doesn’t apply to me (inhales clove cigarette and brushes hair out of face). The instantly catchy pop-rock track was cut when June visited New York City at Diamond City Studios with Ayad Al Adhamy (Passion Pit, Team Spirit) and Joel Wittenberg (Surf Rock Is Dead).
The satirical track finds June taking aim at the pretentious and privileged among us who would spend all their time presenting a fake and contrived version of themselves as opposed to just being cool being who they really are. Take that theme and add it with vibrant guitar chords and buoyant rhythms and you have yourself a brilliant intial entry into the world of Georgia June.
