Vienna-based producer LOVECAT is prepping to release his debut album The Great Catsby on September 9th. Yes, you read all of that right. Synth pop to its core, his sound is a fresh escape from his early days in rock and punk rock bands. In fact, you can find evolution in the new album from his debut EP, which was released 5 years ago. Infinitely catchy, the song is an upfront pop ballad to love and the emotional importance of love. Dramatic in its lyrical composition, the song is upbeat–almost light as a feather–and danceable as hell. “‘Lovesong’ is about my personal fight against overcoming disappointment, frustration and the knowledge that I will fuck something up again,” expands LOVECAT. “But no matter how hard I fall I will always hang on to my love, which comes from the deepest part of my heart, because that is what defines me! And the struggle between highs and lows and love as a kind of “weapon” is basically what the whole album The Great Catsby is about.”
