Decamping to the rural beauty and calm of Maine away from the constant constantness of NYC, artist Nate Terepka found the space to craft an excellent solo EP, Sunlight Farm. Whereas his works as a member of the experimental psych-pop group Zula find him layering swirls of sounds on top of initial ideas, the music on his solo endeavor takes that same spirit in a more natural, acoustic-led direction.
Now, Terepka shares a Bucky Illingworth-directed music video for single “Out In Sun” premiering on Impose here today. Transporting you right into the heart of the woods, “Out In Sun” rides a winding guitar line and a steady backbeat as whirring electronics help build towards a wild crescendo.
“When I was a kid I was obsessed with making horror movies with my dad’s VHS camcorder,” Terepka shares. “I thought it would be fun to make a music video with that stalker-suspense vibe, and in this case, I’m the one terrorizing myself.”
