Qluster is the latest incarnation of the long running project that's pitted the experiments of Hans-Joachim Roedelius against a long line of pivotal players in the German synth underground since they were Kluster, at their earliest 1969 sessions with Conrad Schnitzler and Dieter Moebius, and after Schnitzler's exit, as Cluster.
Qluster's new album Fragen, out tomorrow on Bureau B Records, is the first of a trilogy of releases that are the result of collaborations between Roedelius and Onnen Bock. The duo is sharing a five-minute rumination that seams together austere harmonic drones with sparse synth sequences and dabs of organic instrumentation.
