Well, it happened. All four Black Hippy members dropped songs or albums in 2010 that impressed me enough to consider the crew record one of my most anticipated of 2011.
Schoolboy Q's “Figg Get Da Money” has a Labcabincalifornia vibe to it that suits my original assessment of his crew from the “Zip That, Chop That” video as teetering between The Pharcyde and N.W.A. Schoolboy Q earns major FTW points for jackin' Kanye's “Get'em High” opening bars like it ain't no thing, but when he flips the script into his own style Schoolboy proves he's far from a weak link in his crew. Not that I considered him a weak link, but when your crew consists of a former XXL Freshman of the Year and Dr. Dre's latest interest, you've got your work cut out to not get lost in the hype.
