I don’t know how, but Sophie always manages to make my favorite single of the summer.
Last year it was the watery “Bipp” and this year it’s poised to be the freshly squeezed “Lemonade”, which skews a touch more acidic than the squirmy, saccharine sounds of last summer. Set to be released on a 12″ August 4 via Numbers, it’s the latest earwormy hypno-drop banger from the enigmatic London-based producer.
Still loving the squelchy beats and fuzzy bass, it’s sugar-coated schoolyard meets East NY MC, all pinned against gurgling synths and an addictively bubbly pastel pink vibe. Definitely a refreshingly tart take on your typical summer pop sizzler.
