Symbol—aka Christopher Royal King, founder and lead guitarist of This Will Destroy You—is a day away from releasing his solo debut LP Online Architecture on Austin label HOLODECK records (also repping Pure X and S U R V I V E). The first single, a mellow and restrained use of synth feedback called “Clear Passage,” sounds like the inside of a conch shell with the volume turned way up in spurts. It's the kind of digital sea sound that begs to soundtrack a Sofia Coppola movie, or at least a rainy day spent soul-searching. You won't find a clear outline anywhere in track, and if you try to follow the logic of its movements, you might get lost.
