Kansas City noise rock duo Tongues is set to release their upcoming album, I Really Have To Get My Life Back On Track Before I Cut All My Hair Off, this Friday. We’ve got the exclusive streaming premiere of the work in its entirety right here.
The first track “We Live Under A Bridge” might have to be taken literally, as the heavy guitar riff and drums are very easy to hear, while the vocals are not. It sounds like an attempt to sing underwater to be honest, but possesses such a fun beat that leads us quite nicely into the rest of the album. I Really Have To Get My Life On Track Before I Cut All My Hair Off continues in much the same vein, with warped vocals that are barely audible when they are, and possess a slightly demented – or at the very least demonic – vibe to them.
Make no mistake, we’re big fans of the bulky guitar and reverb that makes these feel like classic hard rock songs more than anything. If you’re into heavy music, this will be your new addiction. But make sure to warn your friends before playing it in its entirety at a party, as it might incite a riot.
