“Black Hair” is the latest single off Philly-based Alex G's forthcoming album, DSU. This time, his heart-crushing Elliott Smith-evoking melodies are fully pronounced and unmuddled. He has a distinctly 90s spirit of grunge youth that, for this late 80s baby, doesn't do much to uplift. Even better, it's immediately feeling, cutting right to where music hurts (or at least, where it should when done right). With several singles out already (see: here and here), we have good reason to count down the days til the rest comes out .
