Antony, CocoRosie, and more to host Future Feminists art exhibition and series

Post Author:

Last night, downtown Manhattan’s Hole gallery opened its doors to a radical new exhibition curated by the Future Feminists art collective. Led by Sierra and Bianca Casady of CocoRosie, Antony of Antony and the Johnsons, Hole artist Kembra Pfahler, and Johanna Constantine, Future Feminism is “a call to arms to reorganize ourselves as a species and affirm archetypally feminine values.” The collective has installed thirteen slabs of rose quartz, each representing one of the group’s 13 Tenets of Future Feminism, which they’ve worked to hone for three years. Each night through September 27, one of the tenets will be activated in a performance or lecture by the group and their collaborators.

Performances start at 8pm and are open to the public with a suggested donation of $10. Not a bad deal to see performances by artists like Marina Abramović, Anne Carson, Lydia Lunch, and Julianna Huxtable.
