In honor of the third annual International Cassette Store Day—which, apparently is a real thing—UK label Ghost Babes Records released its second label comp as a limited edition cassette. The album, which features a young Winona Ryder on the cover, is simply titled Ghost Babes Compilation Vol.2, following the first comp, which was released in February.
While the label operates out of London, its roster is made up of scrappy American acts who deserve a wider audience, including SPORTS, Fern Mayo, Jawbreaker Reunion, and more. Though released on Cassette Store Day—the more we say it, the less real it sounds—Ghost Babes founder Ellie Coden told us earlier in the year that it was always her intention to release the label’s records on tape. “Having a release on cassette would bring me closer to the US tape scene that inspired [her],” she said.
Ghost Babes Compilation Vol.2 is limited to 100 copies, which are available for sale on Bandcamp. You can stream it below.
