Metal kids, throw your horns up, Mastodon has announced a new LP due out later this year on Reprise Records. Although a follow-up to 2009's Crack the Skye, the metal mongers promise a new direction in sound on The Hunter, if not style. While the release date is not yet known, the band teases with the names of the songs featured: “Curl Of The Burl,” “Dry Bone Valley,” “Blasteroids,” “The Octopus Has No Friends,” “All The Heavy Lifting,” and “Stargasm.”
For those fiending for new Mastodon, they are currently partaking in Adult Swim's Singles Program, where a cut off of Crack the Skye, “Deathbound”, is available for free. The site also hosts its video, which is not unlike any sadistic child's day-dream. Check them out here for a limited time.
