Remember the first time you were hit in the head with a bass drum? Or that one time the basement of your humble New Brunswick estate was torn to shreds, pipes gouged from the ceiling? Or perhaps you’re just nostalgic for the early 90s grunge explosion – not the music necessarily, but the shirtless, lanky bearded dudes. Well, Michelle Panache has you covered.
“Tel Aviv’s finest,” the Monotonix, are back to rage your inner-Williamsburg Waterfront, to wear shorts that would make even the most exhibitionist of bikers blush, but mainly to shred the West, the South and our delightfully Canadian neighbors. Oh yeah, and they have a new album dropping January 25 entitled Not Yet, produced by the ever-relevant Steve Albini. Hot damn. Does this mean the Monotonix’s arena shaking bursts are going to take a breather to a darker, more disgustingly ambient rock record? One can only hope.
Pick up Not Yet January 25 on Drag City and check out the moustachio'd dudes as they ride across the range.
